Meghan Nickerson
Case Management Coordinator/Volunteer Coordinator
Meghan Nickerson worked as the Coordinator of Volunteer and Client Educational Services at the Program for Survivors of Torture from July 2006 until February 2009. She is returning in a new position that will combine volunteer coordination with case management. Meghan holds an MA in French Studies from New York University, as well as a BA in French and Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota. Although she took a rather indirect route to human rights work, she has always had an interest in immigrants and asylum seekers, and has done much research on the effects of French colonialism in Africa. She began working with the Program for Survivors of Torture as a volunteer interpreter in 2004. Ms. Nickerson is currently pursuing teacher certification at Hunter College.
