Staff Psychologist

Dr. Leanh Nguyen obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology and her advanced postdoctoral training in psychoanalysis from New York University. A former refugee, she is fluent in French and Vietnamese. Her areas of clinical specialty are trauma, immigrant/refugee mental health, and severe character pathology. In addition to treating torture victims, she has worked extensively with South-East Asian and lgbt populations. At PSOT, Dr. Nguyen has initiated a multi-focal treatment and advocacy program for individuals who fled homophobic persecution which addresses the coming out process, immigration-related adjustment, problematic relational patterns, as well as deep post-traumatic pathologies.
