Training

The Program is a leader in training both future and current health professionals in the evaluation and treatment of torture survivors. Currently, the Program provides each year, with appropriate supervision, direct clinical experience in caring for torture survivors to more than 50 health professionals in training, including psychology interns/externs, senior medical students, and residents in a variety of areas including internal medicine, psychiatry, dermatology, pediatrics and neurology. To date, approximately 300 health professionals in training have received extensive clinical experience with our Program and are now working throughout the U.S. applying their skills in caring for traumatized immigrant populations.
